• Use when indicated by the Annique Assessment. • If you are pregnant do no exceed 10 000 iU per day • Roaccutane© users should not take Vitamin A supplements. Vitamin A starts out as beta-carotene (retinyl palmitate), one of the family of plant chemicals known as carotenoids. The body converts it to various other forms of Vitamin A called retinols. Beta-carotene is not toxic in large amounts although the skin may turn orange. Vitamin A, however, is stored in the liver and high levels can be toxic. People with diabetes, hypothyroidism, or liver disease cannot easily convert beta carotene into Vitamin A. An appropriate ratio of beta-carotene / Vitamin A has been used in this supplement. Vitamin A is: • For healthy skin (especially in healing acne, and eczema) • An antioxidant that acts as a free radical scavenger helping to eliminate damaged cells. • An immune system booster. • An aid for good night vision. • An Inhibitor of the retina disease, Retinitis Pigmentosa. • Necessary for the production of Growth Hormone. • For ligament repair. • Used for transporting enzymes and proteins. • An anti-ageing factor that promotes cell regeneration. • Necessary adrenal gland upkeep and thyroid hormone production. Symptoms of Vitamin A deficiency may include: dry or flaky skin, dandruff, acne, frequent infections, cystitis, diarrhea, mouth ulcers, and poor night vision.
